Civil Appellate Practice
During his career, Bob has briefed and participated in the briefing of numerous civil appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Eleventh Circuits, as well as in the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Massachusetts Court of Appeals. The subject matters of these cases have included personal injury, breach of contract, antitrust, Georgia constitutional law, and federal rule interpretation.
As well, Bob has directed, participated in, or written a wide variety of motions and jury instructions in trial courts throughout the country in cases posing issues involving Georgia and Federal RICO, product liability, contract enforcement, arbitration clause enforcement, and class certification, among other topics.
Since opening his solo appellate practice in 2006, Bob has had repeated success in his civil matters, including winning a motion to dismiss, holding a favorable defense verdict on appeal in the Georgia Court of Appeals, reversing a motion for summary judgment in the Georgia Court of Appeals, and reversing a $2 million verdict in the Eleventh Circuit.
